 THE TASTING ROOM IS CLOSED FOR THE 2018 SEASON 

The Kilaurwen Tasting Room will be closed for the 2018 season on December 10, 2018 except by appointment, for special events, or to pick up wine orders.  The Tasting Room will reopen for the 2019 season on Friday, April 5, 2019.

 

Tunes and Tastings 2018–A Benefit for Habitat for Humanity of Greene County

We invite you to a very special live music event – “Tunes & Tastings – Our Color Palette” to be held in the Tasting Room at Kilaurwen Winery on Friday, December 28th, 6 to 8pm. The musicians are donating their performance and Kilaurwen is donating wines to be tasted. One hundred percent of funds raised will go entirely to Habitat for Humanity of Greene County.

Tickets are $20 and include a wine tasting and light refreshments. Tickets are available by phone (434) 985-2535 or by email at info@kilaurwenwinery.com. Due to space constraints, there are limited seats for this event, please do not delay if you would like to attend.  Last year’s event sold out.

Deck Your Halls  –  Boxwood Wreath Making Workshops at Kilaurwen Winery

Our 2018 ‘Make and Take’ Boxwood Wreath Making Sessions will  include some open-to-the-public sessions for individual registrations as well as dates and times that can be reserved for private groups of family members, friends or clubs/organizations.   The available dates are between Sunday, November 25 and Sunday, December 2.   Registration is $40 per person which includes boxwood, trim greenery, all tools and materials and personalized instruction.  You will make some special holiday memories and leave with your own original boxwood wreath ready to hang on your door or give as a gift.   For information and/or to make reservations:  email – info@kilaurwenwinery.com or call (434)985-2535.

Come celebrate Virginia Wine Month and the beauty of autumn in the Blue Ridge while enjoying your favorite Kilaurwen wine, great music and yummy food.   We are delighted that Scuffletown will be back to share their unique blend of originals, roots and high energy music along with the humorous banter that makes their performances unique and special.  Bring your chairs and blankets and join with friends and neighbors to sip your favorite Kilaurwen wine. Bring a picnic from home or make it easy on yourself and buy some tasty food truck fare from 106 Street Food!

Alumni from participating classes and their guests are invited to attend one of these two wine tasting events in the Newcomb Hall Ballroom.  If you are planning to attend your class reunion this year, please, stop by to sample some award-winning Kilaurwen wines.  Buy bottles of your favorites and plan to gather with friends on the Lawn to sip wine and share memories.  We look forward to welcoming former wine friends and making new ones at this special Wahoo event.

Taste of Monticello Wine Trail Grand Tasting

Down Town Mall, Charlottesville, Virginia 

At the annual Taste of Monticello Wine Trail Grand Tasting, you’ll have a chance to taste wine offered by the 25 local wineries that comprise the prestigious Monticello Wine Trail.  Enjoy tasting our award wining wines, then buy a glass to sip with your lunch and some bottles or cases to take home for later.  Come on out to the Pavilion on Charlottesville’s Downtown Mall for an afternoon of fine Virginia wine tasting with live musical entertainment, local crafts and yummy food.  There will be seating under the Pavilion and places to spread blankets in the surrounding grassy areas while you share a bottle of wine and listen to your favorite songs.  www.monticellowinetrailfestival.com.

Meet the Artist Reception

Stop by for a pleasant evening and meet featured artist, Jacklyn Gallihugh, a member of the Art Guild of Greene.  Talk with her about her mixed media creations in oil, gouache and water color while you sip complimentary wine and nibble on cheese and chocolate.
