Tunes & Tastings – A Special Benefit Concert Event at Kilaurwen
Stanardsville, Virginia
We invite you to a very special live music event – “Tunes & Tastings” to be held in the Tasting Room at Kilaurwen Winery on Saturday, January 27th from 2 to 4 pm.
“Tunes and Tastings” will be a benefit music performance to raise funds for the Greene Care Clinic. The musicians are donating their performance and Kilaurwen is donating wines to be tasted. One hundred percent of funds raised will go entirely to the clinic.
Tickets are $15 and include a wine tasting. Tickets are available by phone (434) 985-2535 or by email at info@kilaurwenwinery.com. Due to space constraints, there are limited seats for this event, please do not delay if you would like to attend.

Registration is underway for our annual wreath-making workshops on Saturday, December 5 from 9 am – 12 noon and Sunday, December 6 from 2-5 pm. Participants receive hands-on assistance to create their own handmade wreaths of freshly cut boxwood and evergreen trims for the holiday season. The fee of $30.00 covers all materials and instruction. Mulled cider, gingerbread cookies and holiday music are part of the morning and participants leave with their own hand-made wreaths to decorate their home or to give as a special gift. Private wreath-making sessions for groups up to 10 people can also be arranged for those wanting a fun holiday activity for their group.
The workshops will be held in Kilaurwen’s tasting room, 1543 Evergreen Church Road, Stanardsville and are taught by the owner and winemaker Bob Steeves. Gordonsville’s Famous Fried Chicken Festival
Gordonsville, Virginia
Y’all come on over to Gordonsville to sip wine and savor contest-winning fried chicken and homemade pies. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Gordonsville became famous for its fried chicken, which was served to passengers of trains stopping in town by local women carrying platters of the delicacy on their heads. Nationally-known at that time, Gordonsville’s fried chicken earned the town the nickname of “chicken-leg center of the universe”.
To celebrate this special heritage, the Town of Gordonsville holds its Famous Fried Chicken Festival each year at the Gordonsville Fire Company Fair Grounds.
