KILAURWEN WINERY TASTING ROOM

WILL BE CLOSED FOR THE 2022 SEASON.

Changing times come in all endeavors and that time has come for us in our plans for the winery tasting room.  We have been working on the vineyard and the winery since 1994 restoring the original grape vines, clearing land, planting more vines, making and selling wine, sponsoring and participating in wine events at Kilaurwen and all over Virginia.  It has been a blast and lots of you have been a part of the adventure.  You have continually made it possible and made it fun. 

The past two years have been especially challenging due to the impact of the COVID pandemic. As we reassess our plans during this transitional time, we have decided that we will not reopen the tasting room this year. Doriene has shoulder replacement surgery and rehab scheduled in the early summer and we have made some exciting family travel plans for spring.

 We’ve leased the vineyard to a wine colleague for the coming season and will continue to sell our wine by the bottle and case for gateside pick up or by mail.  Hopefully, by next year the world will have COVID under control and our family will have a new organizational plan in place for Kilaurwen!
